While the children have only met Julie, Alain and a few volunteers, they are well aware that many more people thousands of miles away have made everything possible.

As a small charitable organization run entirely on volunteer efforts, we are able to ensure that every dollar raised benefits Danyi's children and other specified beneficiaries directly. In other words, all costs involved in running the organization come from our pockets, not yours.

As of December 2007, we've joined the fight against malaria- the single leading cause of death in children five and under in Africa. To protect Danyi's children from a completely preventable disease, we've teamed up with "Against Malaria" to provide every family in Danyi N'Digbe with special mosquito bed nets called Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs). Used by organizations like the Red Cross and UNICEF, these nets last up to five years and help reduce the rate of malaria in villages by 60 to 90 percent when used consistently.

In addition to handing out nets, we will educate the entire village on preventing and treating malaria, and we will conduct follow-up visits of each home to make sure the LLINs are being used properly. Once we've outfitted Danyi N'Digbe, we'll branch out to surrounding areas in need.

Thank you for helping us make Danyi's children healthier and happier!
